As the skin ages, the ability to produce certain amino acids and oils that keep lips looking luscious and kissable decreases, and lips start to thin out and become a whole lot less sexy than they were during our prime years.
However, with collagen injections into the lips, it becomes increasingly easy to get your lips looking the way they did during your twenties and thirties!
The procedure is simple and somewhat painless, and can even be done in a lunch break! First, the lips are treated with a local anesthetic to ease any discomfort that may occur during the injections. After the anesthetic has begun to work, very small needles are inserted into the lip and amounts of collagen and a plumping gel (usually made out of all natural ingredients) are injected into the lips.
The injections only take about half an hour, and a daily routine can be continued after that.
However, in a few days time, a small amount of swelling or redness may occur, but should not be worried over as it is incredibly normal.
Then, after about 10 days, the lips will be in their prime and working with the collagen plumping gel. The injections generally last about three to four months; however it depends on the contents of the plumping gel, the practitioner who conducts the procedure, and the collagens ability to adapt to your skin type.
Some people may find that they have had previous interactions with collagen, and that their skin may react in a bad way to the collagen, and some of the other chemicals that are evident within the plumping gel.
